LUMIERELicensing Overview
01
The basics
When Lumiere photographs or films a project, the resulting images and video are owned by Lumiere. If you contributed to the space we captured — as a supplier, maker, or trade — you can licence those assets for your own use. Here's what that means in practice.
| You own | A licence to use the specific images or clips you purchase, for the use category you select. Nothing more. |
| Lumiere owns | The copyright in all imagery and video at all times, including raw and edited files. |
| Licence type | Non-exclusive (others may licence the same assets), non-transferable (you can't pass it on), and perpetual (no expiry for the use granted). |
| Approval | Each licence is granted with the originating client's awareness, under a notice-and-objection process. |
What you can't do
- use the assets beyond the use category you've licensed;
- sub-licence, sell, or pass the assets to another party;
- imply Lumiere or the originating client endorses you;
- remove credits, watermarks, or embedded data;
- register the assets as your own trademark or design.
Attribution & credit
Where assets are published publicly, credit Lumiere as “Photography / Film: Lumiere”, given in the manner appropriate to the platform:
— Instagram & social: tag @lumiere.nz
— Website & digital: link to www.lumiere.nz
— Print & editorial: written credit “Photography / Film: Lumiere”
Internal use doesn’t require a credit line.
